DP 95 Gravity Sewer Repair Project
The primary goal of this repair project was to reduce the possibility of sanitary sewer overflow (SSO) occurrences by increasing the reliability and performance of CVSan’s wastewater collection system and pump stations. The project consisted of improvements and repairs, 3,481 linear feet (LF) of full line replacement, 15 spot repairs, including seven that are located in easements, one spot repair will occur near an aerial pipeline, six manhole rehabilitations, five manhole installations, and one overflow pipe segment will be abandoned and re-routed with a new main.
The total estimated cost of the project was $988,195.

Aerial Pipeline and Pump Station Rehabilitation Project
The construction contract was awarded to Mountain Cascade, Inc. The contractor completed minor repairs at five Pump Stations, will see minor repairs. Minor repairs include hatch replacements, float replacements, fall protection anchor points, and electrical bypass. Three Pump Stations received major repairs. Major repairs include all minor repairs in addition to pipe and valve work, concrete repair, protective coating, and new sewer bypass connections.
The total cost of the project was $1,974,474.

Santa Maria Avenue/ Redwood Road Sewer Repair Project
The construction contract was awarded to APB General Engineering. This project up-sized the public sewer main line section on Santa Maria Avenue by Mabel Avenue to a 10” High-density polyethylene (HDPE) SDR-17 pipe. Replacement of a sewer main line section near Redwood Road was performed to address a void that was found and determined to be a critical defect.The total cost of the project was $98,950.

Nutrient Optimization Project
Please enjoy this project video discussing the importance of the Nutrient Optimization Project.The purpose of this project was to optimize treatment processes at the wastewater treatment plant to improve nutrient removal from wastewater. This project also included the rehabilitation of an existing shallow-water outfall (existing outfall pipelines) to convey secondary treated effluent to the Bay during wet weather events when flows exceed the contractual capacity.
The total cost of the project was $24,000,000. (CVSan funded 25%)

Marshall Street Capacity Improvement/Repair & Rehabilitation Project
The Marshall Street Capacity Improvement/Repair & Rehabilitation Project was awarded to DEI, on May 7, 2019, by Resolution No. 3448. DEI completed six spot repairs, four manhole installations, two full line replacements utilizing open trench, and 17 full line replacements using pipe bursting and horizontal directional drilling.
The total cost of the project was $1,913,339.

Sandy Road Capacity Improvement Project
The construction contract was awarded to Cratus, Inc., on May 2, 2017, by Resolution No. 3401. The contractor completed 13 spot repairs, five manhole installations, two full line replacements utilizing open trench, and 14 full line replacements using pipe bursting. The successful completion of this project was an integral part of CVSan’s continued efforts to fulfill its obligation to eliminate and/or reduce Sanitary Sewer Overflows.
The total cost of the project was $1,623,940.

Pump Station No. 4 Forcemain Replacement and Flume Rehabilitation Project
The construction contract was awarded to TerraCon Constructors, Inc., on March 7, 2017, by Resolution No. 3397. The contractor completed installing 755 linear feet (LF) of 8” ductile iron pipe by open-cut replacement to re-route the Pump Station No. 4 forcemain and abandoned the existing forcemain in an easement. In addition, the maintenance hatch and concrete flatwork around the hatch at the Flume were replaced and reconstructed, and Manhole Odor Eliminators were installed.
The total cost of the project was $428,671.
