Bicycle Recovery Program for Castro Valley

Looking for a way to put that unused old bike to use? Castro Valley Sanitary District (CVSan) and Alameda County Industries (ACI) have re-established a bicycle recovery partnership with the local non-profit organization Bad Business Model Bikes (BBMB). Select bicycles that are placed in Bulky & Reuse Pick-Ups will be picked up by BBMB for repair and refurbishing to match the bikes to people who need them.

CVSan Zero Waste Supervisor Naomi Lue stated, “Bad Business Model Bikes’ mission is simple: to give bikes to people who need them for free. We are excited to help facilitate this mission. If CVSan residents have an old bike they are not using, we encourage them to place it out when they schedule their annual on-call Bulky & Reuse Pick-Up so that the bike can be given to someone in need.” Residents within the CVSan service area can schedule a Bulky & Reuse Pick-up by calling ACI at (510) 483-1400.
