1. Select a site that you would like to beautify. This is a great group project for your club, organization, family, troop/pack, or team. Tell others and sign up together!

2. Complete registration online by April 11, 2008. For school projects, see your school's main office.

3. Review what's happening after the Clean-Up.

1. Wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. Bring work gloves if you can, and don't forget a hat!

2. Carpool (or walk) to your site by 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 26th.

3 . A Go Green helper will be at every site to give you materials for your project, safety guidelines, and your volunteer i.d. sticker. You'll volunteer until 12:00 p.m.

1. Leave bags & tools at the site.

2. Your free catered lunch will be served from 12:00-3:00 p.m. at Lake Chabot.

  • A catered BBQ lunch will be served from 12:00 - 3:00 p.m., compliments of Castro Valley Sanitary District and Alameda County Supervisor Nate Miley.
  • Lunch will be served at the shady Lake Chabot "Cove" site for all volunteers. You may want to bring a picnic blanket; picnic tables available.
  • Free limited parking will be available in the parking lot for volunteers, courtesy of East Bay Regional Park District, or along Lake Chabot Road.

  • Special Sightseeing Tours for volunteers aboard the Lake Chabot Queen tour boat will depart from the Marina at 12:30 p.m., 1:00 p.m., 1:30 p.m., 2:00 p.m., and 2:30 p.m. (25 seat capacity) at the discounted rate of $2.00 for adults, $1.00 for children 12 and under. Wildlife that may be spotted during your 30 minute tour include deer, raccoon and a wide variety of birds, including heron.


  • Plus, volunteers will enjoy free volleyball access, free horse-shoe throwing, and 50% off all non-motorized boat rentals, courtesy of Lake Chabot Fishing Outfitters. For boat rental information, visit www.norcalfishing.com.

** All greenwaste from the Clean-Up and food scraps & food-soiled paper from the lunch will be composted. You can do the same at home & work!
